Inauguration of the Fred Kahl Health Centre

On Tuesday 16 April 2019, the new Fred Kahl Health Care Centre was inaugurated by Hazel Nash ONZM in memory of her late husband.

All involved with City of Joy Aid, UK are saddened to hear that Rev. James Stevens OBE, founder of Udayan, passed away on Easter Sunday, 21st April 2019 after a short spell of illness.

St Joan's prepares for an eighth trip to Udayan

Eight students and two members of staff from St Joan of Arc Catholic School, Rickmansworth, will be travelling to Kolkata in February 2019 for the school’s eighth trip to visit Udayan. Their trip will see them spending time at the home for children of leprosy sufferers including delivering some lessons to class I to V who are taught on site in Udayan Vidyalaya. They will also visit Asha Bhavan Centre, Paras Padma and ICOD.

Following the recent sad death of her husband Fred Kahl, Hazel Nash OBE, ex-New Zealand police officer, Eton dame and mountain climber extraordinaire, has asked for donations towards the refurbishment of the sick bays and isolation ward at Udayan and the general upgrading of the children’s health care.
