Le Tour de Province of Westminster – Congratulations Peter!!!

After 22 hours of cycling, Peter Sweeney arrived back at St Joan of Arc Catholic School in Rickmansworth at 7pm yesterday evening having completed Le Tour de Province of Westminster. Peter cycled 583 kilometres visiting the five cathedrals within the Ecclesiastical Province of Westminster in a challenge which began at 9am on Friday 28 June. From Rickmansworth Peter visited the cathedrals of Northampton, Nottingham, Norwich, Brentwood and Westminster before returning to the school yesterday evening. Temperatures reached 34 degrees upon arriving at Westminster Cathedral yesterday which makes this achievement even more impressive.

Le Tour de Province of Westminster has been raising funds for the school’s whole school charity – Udayan, a home, school and medical centre for children affected by leprosy in Kolkata, India. Over £9,770 has been raised for rebuilding the perimeter wall at Udayan so far and combined with gift aid the amount raised will be in excess of £11,162.50.

Congratulations on your fantastic achievement Peter!
