Thank you Kathryn, John & Caroline

City of Joy Aid, UK today says thank you and farewell to three trustees who step down from their roles having collectively given 60 years of service to the charity.

Kathryn Spink and John Coo founded the charity back in 2000 with Dominique Lapierre and his wife following the enormous success of Dominique’s book and film about the indomitable spirit of the poor of Calcutta: “The City of Joy” which Kathryn translated and had been frequent visitors to Calcutta with Dominique previously. Having set up the charity in 2000, they remained trustees for 24 years with Kathryn managing the charity and acting as its chair throughout this time.

Caroline Weldon joined the board back in 2013 having been a long and loyal supporter of City of Joy Aid, UK as a teacher at St Joan of Arc Catholic School where she was a tireless fundraiser at her own and other schools raising significant funds for Udayan, until she retired in 2017.

Kathryn, John and Caroline visited Calcutta on numerous occasions as trustees to visit the NGOs City of Joy Aid, UK supports.

Following their retirement, Trish Devlin, Liam Lynch and Rowan Pugsley join the board as trustees together with Chris Mann.

We wish Kathryn, John and Caroline a very happy retirement and welcome Trish, Liam and Rowan to the board of trustees.
